One of the nation’s leading cheese suppliers headquartered in Plymouth has expanded operations to the West Coast.
Masters Gallery Foods has announced the purchase of Rumiano Cheese Company’s converting and distribution facilities in Willow, California, allowing them to realize their desire to expand manufacturing efforts outside the Midwest.
Rumiano Cheese Company is the oldest family-owned cheesemaker in California, having got its start over 100 years ago in 1919.
This acquisition will allow Masters Gallery to continue and expand its industry-leading work while cutting costs on shipping products and materials both to and from Wisconsin.
On the purchase, Jeff Gentine, Masters Gallery Foods President and CEO, said, “Our goal is to use this facility as a platform for Western growth, while positively impacting the city of Willows and the nearly 200 employees we now welcome into the Masters Gallery family.”
Masters Gallery has retained the converting and distribution division of the Rumiano Cheese Company, a fellow national cheese company from Plymouth, Sartori Cheese, purchased Rumiano’s cheesemaking facility in Crescent City, California.
