A new breakfast spot in Manitowoc brings with it a Mexican twist.
Bloom and Brunch is located inside the former Holla restaurant, located directly across the street from the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, and is the latest venture of the family behind Green Bay’s Café Con Crema.
Claudia Flores-Martinez, who is running Bloom & Brunch, tells SeehaferNews.com that the journey to Manitowoc actually began in Milwaukee.
“We started with a small little restaurant over there, and then when we found the bigger building in Green Bay, we decided to expand there,” she explained. “And then, when we saw the listing for this one, we came to see it. We loved it. We knew that we could handle two locations, and so we decided to go for it.”
The Flores-Maritnez family closed down their Milwaukee location prior to expanding into Manitowoc.
Anyone who enjoyed a meal in the restaurant under the previous ownership knows it is a beautiful space with floor-to-ceiling windows, which was a big draw for the Bloom & Brunch team, as was the lakeshore location.
While there are a lot of restaurants to get a high-quality breakfast in town, Claudia calls their menu a traditional breakfast with a twist.
“We do offer, you know, your classics, eggs and bacon, all that kind of stuff, but we do like to offer something a little different as well and sprinkle in a little something that’s a little unique,” she revealed. “We have like chilaquiles, we have a few breakfast tacos. We also offer green juice lattes. So we do like to experiment a little bit, but also keep that traditional aspect to it.”
Claudia has been more than happy with their reception thus far, despite only being open since June 3rd.
“Everybody’s really friendly here,” Claudia said with a smile. “The customers have been really friendly and welcoming. So, you know, so far so good.”
