Two Sheboygan County residents were recently honored by the Wisconsin DNR.
Fifteen people were granted a 2025 Invasive Species Action Award through the Wisconsin Invasive Species Council, including Regional AIS Coordinator Patrick Siwula and volunteer Steve Klock.
As the Regional AIS Coordinator, Siwula has “overseen early detection and rapid response efforts on multiple high-profile invasive species.”
He also helped guide lake associations through effective response efforts and innovative monitoring protocols.
Klock previously worked for the DNT, but since 2011, he has helped educate local schools, youth camps, landowners, non-profits, and others on invasive species.
He is known as a local expert in Sheboygan County and is always willing to roll up his sleeves and lend a hand.
