The Kohler Foundation has handed out over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships.
The foundation’s Executive Director, Angela Ramey, tells SeehaferNews.com that Evelyn Ramos-Garcia of Cedar Grove-Belgium has received the Herbert V. Kohler (HVK) scholarship while the Ruth DeYoung Kohler (RDK) Scholarship for Artistic Excellence was awarded to both Azrielle Berge of Warriner High School and Matilde Guevara of Etude High School.
Ramos-Garcia has earned $150,000 thanks to her service to school and community, her ability to effect change and her academic excellence.
She is a first-generation college student and will be pursuing a Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Berge has received $60,000 through the RDK scholarship which focuses heavily on the arts, and she will attend École de Cirque de Quebec to study Circus Arts.
Guevara, receiving $50,000, is a resolute visual artist and plans on obtaining a BFA in studio painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
The HVK and RDK scholarships are the most prestigious awards the Kohler Foundation hands out and this year’s three total to $260,000.
