City leaders and local groups gathered this weekend to speak out against gun violence.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson declared the occasion “Gun Violence Awareness Day” as part of the national “Wear Orange Weekend” campaign.
The event featured outreach services and memorials, including more than 700 flags placed outside the Safe & Sound organization to honor lives lost to gun violence each year.
Mayor Johnson emphasized the urgent need for change, stating, “Enough is enough.”
