Operations at the Sheboygan Community Café have changed hands.
The Sheboygan County Warming Center has announced that they have acquired the Community Café, which was previously run by the Sheboygan County Food Bank for the last three years since it opened.
Those with the Food Bank have said that the Warming Center is well-positioned to continue providing warm meals and a welcoming space for community members.
The two groups have a strong working relationship, and each side believes this transition will allow both to strengthen their core missions.
In their announcement, the Warming Center said, “We’re grateful for the strong foundation the Community Café has built, and we look forward to continuing this work with love, dignity, and community at the heart of it all.”
While the Warming Center is closed for the season, the change should be rather seamless as the Community Café is housed in the same location.
It will also be in familiar hands as Liz Kroll, former Senior Director of Programs and Community Impact with the Food Bank, took over as the Warming Center’s first-ever Executive Director last month.
Further updates will be provided on what’s next when they become available on the Sheboygan County Warming Center’s Facebook page.
