Road America’s longest-running event returns this weekend.
The annual Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) June Sprints will be hitting the track all weekend, beginning today and finishing up events on Sunday (June 8th).
As it is every year, the June Sprints are slated to be one of the biggest events of the year for “America’s National Park of Speed,” which is also celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
June Sprints features 28 classes of cars ranging from American muscle cars to formula classes that will all begin qualifying rounds throughout the day today.
The June Sprints also mark the beginning of the SCCA Triple Crown of Racing, which will culminate later in the year to crown champions in their respective classes.
Tickets to view the action are available for purchase, ranging from $30 to $45.
The SCCA is often seen as a stepping stone for amateur drivers to take the leap to professional status, like Sam Hornish Jr., Boris Said, Scott Sharp, and many others have done in the past.
