
A man’s body was found near the Door County Maritime Museum yesterday morning (June 5th).
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department was called just after 11:20 a.m. when someone found a deceased man between the Michigan Street Bridge and the museum.
Police and Door County EMS pronounced the man dead after attempting life-saving procedures.
Sturgeon Bay Police say the incident is considered an active death investigation, although the public is not in any danger.
The name of the man is not being released until the family has been notified.
Anyone with information that could be relevant to the location of the dead man from the evening of June 4th until the time of the 911 call should call the police department at 920-746-2450.
More details will be released after the completion of an autopsy and family notification.
