A man from Kaukauna charged with killing his father has been evaluated for a potential mental disease plea.
46-year-old Gregory Juedes appeared in Outagamie County court on Wednesday (June 4th) for a hearing where a competency report was presented to his attorney and prosecutor.
This comes after Juedes’ attorney requested an examination for his client, who wanted to enter a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect in April, as the 46-year-old faces charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
However, FOX11 reports that the contents of the mental examination were not discussed in court on Wednesday as both sides needed more time to review it.
On November 24th, Officers with the Appleton Police Department were called to the 1800 block of South Sanders Street on reports of a disturbance with a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers located Juedes’ 74-year-old father, Daniel, with gunshot wounds and witnessed Gregory fleeing the scene.
Life-saving measures were attempted on Daniel; however, he was pronounced dead. Gregory would later be arrested following a police pursuit that ended with authorities performing a PIT maneuver on his vehicle.
Gregory will return to court on July 11th, where the results of his mental examination will be discussed.
