A campaign to keep Wisconsin’s roads safe has just come to an end.
The Wisconsin State Patrol, along with statewide local law enforcement agencies, has wrapped up its annual Click It or Ticket program, which reinforces the importance of wearing a seatbelt while in an automobile.
Each year, the campaign runs in conjunction with Memorial Day Weekend, and this year, more than 1,300 citations and warnings were issued across the state.
Last year alone, 176 fatalities in Wisconsin involved drivers or passengers not wearing seatbelts, and over 2,100 are injured each year.
