Sheboygan County is looking to help residents dispose of unwanted materials.
The county’s household hazardous waste program will be held tomorrow (June 6th) and Saturday (June 7th).
Friday’s collection will be held at Maywood Environmental Park from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., while Saturday’s event is set for the Sheboygan County Highway Department’s Cascade shed from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
These collections are intended to allow those in the county to safely dispose of items that can create health and environmental risks if not disposed of properly.
The fee for those disposing of only hazardous waste will be $20 per vehicle and $40 for residents wishing to dispose of household electronic waste or both.
Items that will be accepted include flammable liquids, varnishes, fluorescent bulbs, antifreeze, and much more.
However, large appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers and other items such as latex paint, medical waste, or asbestos will not be accepted.
A complete list of what items will and will not be accepted this weekend at the two household hazardous waste collections can be found online by visiting sheboygancounty.com.
