Manitowoc Lincoln Celebrates a Kam Braun Home Run
A Kam Braun two-run home run highlighted a big day at the plate for the Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team as they took down Oshkosh North 9-0 in the WIAA Regional opener.
Braun and hit Ships teammates combined for 10 hits in the win, as Seth Gibeault went the distance on the mound.
The Senior pitcher allowed only 4 hits and struck out 5 Spartan batters in the shutout victory.
Fellow Senior Brayden Steinbecker brought home 3 RBI, including a 2-run double, while DH Zach Bradl added 2 RBI.
Some recent struggles in the field were cleaned up by the Ships come playoff time, as Lincoln committed zero errors in the ballgame to back up Gibeault’s impressive performance on the mound.
With the win, Manitowoc Lincoln advances and will take on the 5th-seeded Appleton East squad at home with a shot at the WIAA Regional Championship on the line.
