Bond has been set for the man charged in the fatal Ozaukee County crash that killed two Sheboygan County residents and injured another.
34-year-old Ace Vue of Milwaukee had his bond set at $2 million cash at his initial appearance on Wednesday (June 3rd).
Vue has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Reckless Homicide and one count of First-Degree Reckless Injury after being involved in a crash in the Town of Belgium that resulted in the death of 51-year-old Nicole Horne and 56-year-old Jay Horne, while their daughter, 22-year-old Alissa Horne, suffered serious injuries.
On May 26th, Vue was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Interstate 43 at a high rate of speed, prompting numerous drivers to contact the authorities to report it.
However, before the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office could stop him, the 34-year-old collided head-on with the Horne’s vehicle, killing Nicole and Jay and severely injuring Alissa.
Vue himself suffered serious injuries but was released from the hospital without the Sheriff’s Office receiving notice.
He was later apprehended in South Milwaukee on Monday (June 2nd).
Currently, it is uncertain if alcohol or drugs played a factor; however, the investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
Vue will return to court in Ozaukee County on June 12th for a preliminary hearing.
