The Village of Cascade has a gravel thief on its hands.
The Village’s Recreation Club has stated that on Sunday (June 1st), someone stole gravel from a pile located at Cascade Memorial Park.
The incident was viewed by one witness who noted that the individual responsible was driving a blue SUV with a trailer.
The large pile of gravel was purchased through community donations and was set to be used to install new playground equipment at Memorial Park.
The Cascade Rec Club is now asking for the gravel to be returned or for the thief to reimburse the group for what was taken.
In their statement, the Rec Club stated, “This is an example of how selfish actions hurt the community and in this case, it’s affecting our kids.”
While no report has been officially filed with the Cascade Police Department, they have echoed the Rec Department’s need for the return or reimbursement of the gravel, but have not ruled out investigating if that does not happen.
Anyone with information regarding Cascade’s gravel thief has been asked to contact the Recreation Department at 920-838-4311 or Sheboygan County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-283-8436.
