A woman serving a life sentence for murder will be standing trial for an alleged crime committed while in prison.
27-year-old Taylor Schabusiness was in court yesterday (June 3rd) for a plea hearing after receiving a charge of Battery by Prisoners following an incident at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution last year.
At the hearing, no agreement in the case was reached, and Schabusiness is set to trial beginning on October 27th.
According to a criminal complaint, Schabusiness lunged at a corrections officer after she needed to get a staple out of her arm.
This outburst occurred as the 27-year-old was serving life in prison after being convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault in the death of Shad Thyrion in Green Bay.
Prior to her trial, she will return to court for a motion hearing on October 8th.
