Rickey D. Boldt, age 77, of Manitowoc, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, with his loving son by his side, at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital.
Rickey was born July 1, 1947, in Appleton, to the late Daniel and Corrine (Engel) Boldt. He attended schools in Appleton and went on to work at the Manitowoc Company, Invincible, and eventually retired as a foreman at WaterCare. On December 10, 1966, Rickey married Janis Maigatter, and the couple made their home in Manitowoc. He was a handy-man and jack of all trades (but a master of none). He enjoyed creating things, anything from welding to woodworking, and you could find his creations of yard animals scattered among friends and neighbors’ yards. He loved spending as much time as he could outdoors. Whenever he had the chance, Rickey was hunting, fishing, splitting wood, or riding snowmobiles and ATVs. He also had a passion for horses and horseback riding. He passed on his love of the outdoors to his son, grandson, and granddaughter, who he enjoyed hunting and fishing with. He had a love for animals and animals had a love for him. In addition to his love of the outdoors, Rickey also enjoyed refinishing vintage cars with his brother-in-law, and together they brought many vehicles back to life.
Rickey is survived by his wife of almost 58 years: Janis Boldt; son: Tim (Donna) Boldt; two grandchildren: Dorothy Boldt and Joshua Boldt; brother and sister-in-law: Tony (Carolyn) Boldt; and sister-in-law: Louise Maigatter. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Corrine Boldt; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Eugene and Dorothy Maigatter; sister and brother-in-law: Joy (Daniel) VanLandghen; brother: Daniel Quinn Boldt; and brothers-in-law: John Maigatter, Douglas Maigatter, and Paul Maigatter.
