Volunteers are being asked again to help with the annual Gun Deer Hunt for Hunters with Disabilities.
The Wisconsin DNR states that landowners must have at least 60 acres available to host at least three hunters.
DNR Assistant Deer and Elk Specialist Brooke VanHandel says, “This special hunt has been providing hunters with disabilities accessible opportunities to deer hunt for over 30 years, and its landowner’s willingness to partner with hunters and open their properties each year allows more individuals the opportunity to participate in Wisconsin’s deer hunting tradition.”
Volunteer applications are due by July 1st.
The Gun Deer Hunt for Hunters With Disabilities takes place from October 4th through the 12th.
It began in 1992 and provides opportunities for 400 hunters each year.
