
Several local and area athletes will look to punch their ticket to next week’s WIAA State Track and Field Meet in Lacrosse as they compete in Sectionals this afternoon.
Manitowoc Lutheran leads a contingent of athletes competing in a Division Three meet in Marathon.
Other athletes representing Manitowoc County include those from Valders, Mishicot, and Reedsville.
A Division Two sectional in Marinette will have competitors from schools including Two Rivers, Kiel, Brillion, Denmark, Chilton, Plymouth, and Oostburg.
In Division One, Manitowoc Lincoln will have several athletes headed to Neenah along with competitors from Sheboygan North and South, while the rest of the FRCC schools from the Green Bay Area compete in a D-1 sectional at West De Pere.
The state meet is June 6th and 7th at Veterans Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of La Crosse.
In regular-season baseball, Manitowoc Lincoln hosts Kaukauna at Municipal Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
Elsewhere, Sheboygan North visits West De Pere, De Pere hosts Appleton North, Bayport entertains Neenah, Appleton West goes across town to battle Appleton East, and Oshkosh West hosts Kimberly.
In High School girls’ soccer, Manitowoc Lincoln concludes the regular season at Sheboygan South, Kiel has a five-minute bus ride to New Holstein, Kohler hosts West Bend East/West, Pulaski visits Green Bay Preble, and Sturgeon Bay is home for Pius XI of Milwaukee.
