A person is dead following a crash in Grand Chute.
Police and fire personnel were dispatched to the intersection of West Prospect Avenue and South Van Dyke Road in the Town of Grand Chute at 4:30 p.m. on a report of a two vehicle crash.
Investigators determined an SUV traveling West on Prospect veered off of the roadway, striking a mailbox and a utility pole.
This caused the vehicle to roll back onto the roadway and strike an eastbound vehicle that was stopped in traffic.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The section of roadway was closed for several hours as utility crews made repairs to the pole.
No additional information has been released.
The Grand Chute Police Department received assistance on the scene from the Wisconsin State Patrol, Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, the Fox Crossing Police and Fire Departments, Gold Cross Ambulance, and the Outagamie County Highway Department.
