The City of Two Rivers is looking at advertising land meant for industrial use as residential.
The city council approved allowing city staff to at the 1.33-acre parcel on the corner of 18th and Hawthorne Streets in the Columbus Industrial Park to see if they think the city could get residential development.
City Manager Greg Buckley says the land might be too small for a business seen in the Woodland Industrial Park, but could have room for multi-family lots.
City Engineer Matt Heckenlaible showed the council what the land could turn into since there are some city utilities that reach out there.
However, the city could run into issues with residences south of the parcel.
The city council was also interested in seeing how the land would be priced.
The Columbus Industrial Park is located on the edge of the city’s south side off Highway 310.
