An Oshkosh man is facing federal child porn charges.
A five-page indictment against 52-year-old David E. Dejanovich was issued Wednesday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin.
In the report, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Richard G. Frohling, noted Dejanovich “engaged in the receipt of obscene visual depictions of the sexual abuse of children in April 2024”, all while he was actively registered as a sexual offender.
Specific details of the case have not yet been made public, but it was noted that the case was a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Dejanovich is facing as many as 50 years in prison as well as a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted.
