
The Manitowoc Lutheran track and field team will be well represented at the upcoming regional championships.
Coach Abbey Bubolz tells SeehaferNews.com that the boys squad was crowned regional champs in Hilbert yesterday, in a day where they claimed the top spot in eight events.
Gabriel Stuebs continued his historic career with first-place finishes in the 200 and 400-meter dash events, and as a part of the 4×400 relay along with Jacob Kanzenbach, Isaiah Muchka, and Braden Revak.
Jacob Kanzenbach and Revak also claimed a pair of gold medals, with Kanzenbach winning the 800-meter run, and both runners, along with James Glodowski and Ryder Vogt, claimed the 4×800 relay.
Issac Wagner, Trenton Schuettpelz, and Levi Welch also fared well in the field events, winning the long jump, triple jump, and discus, respectively.
The Lancer boys also had athletes finish high enough to qualify in the 110 hurdles, 4×100 meter relay, high jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus.
As for the girls, the team finished in 3rd place, with Elizabeth Blauert and Addison Korte winning the long jump and shot put events, respectively.
Numerous other athletes qualified for sections with high finishes in the 100 and 400 meter dash, 100 meter hurdles, 4×400 and 4×800 relays, long jump, triple jump, and two in the high jump.
The Division 3 Sectional 3 Championships will be held in Marathon this Friday (May 30th), with the state meet slated for June 6th and 7th at Veterans Memorial Stadium Complex in La Crosse.
