The Sheboygan Department of Public Works has offered an update on its annual road work program.
The DPW’s Annual Pavement Maintenance Program will begin work today (May 27th) on various different streets across the city.
Throughout the summer, work is scheduled for Water Street at Jefferson Street and from New Jersey and Virginia Avenues, South 9th Street between Indiana and High Avenues, Union Avenue between South Business Drive and the railroad tracks, and from North 26th Street to Taylor Drive.
These are just a few of the eight different locations the city plans to address as part of the program.
Work to be done includes grinding and filling pavement cracks to prevent moisture from entering the roadways, with work projected to be completed over the next several weeks, weather permitting.
On the day prior to work at one of the several locations, no parking signs will be placed out reading, “No parking – 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.”
When work is being performed, roads will be closed to through traffic, however, closures are not expected to last longer than one day at a single location, and no parking signs will be removed upon completion.
