A man charged with hitting a motorcyclist in Manitowoc is pleading not guilty.
Court records show that 35-year-old Steven Behnke was back in Manitowoc County Court last Wednesday (May 22nd) for his preliminary hearing, where he was bound over for trial on charges that include hit and run involving significant bodily harm, knowingly operating a vehicle with a revoked license, and failing to install an ignition interlock device.
He’s scheduled to return to court in June for further proceedings before a scheduling conference in August.
Manitowoc Police were called to the intersection of South 10th and Washington Street after a vehicle struck a motorcyclist.
Police say they called Behnke, who claimed that he was in Sheboygan, but his vehicle was found in Manitowoc.
Behnke was later located and charged.
