A Fond du Lac man is facing charges after he negligently discharged a rifle in his home.
The Fond du Lac Police Department was called to the 100 block of Central Avenue just before 9:00 Sunday (May 25th) evening on a report of a gunshot.
The caller, a neighbor of the unnamed gun-owner, reported hearing a loud noise, which was followed by a window in their home breaking.
It was determined that the 42-year-old man next door had inadvertently discharged a rifle, and the round struck the home.
While initial attempts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful, the man called dispatch directly and ended up voluntarily cooperating with the investigation.
No injuries were reported, and no additional details are being released at this time.
The man was arrested on charges of Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
