Two Wisconsin state senators are recognized for “bold action to address energy challenges.”
State Senator David Steffen of Howard and Senator Julian Bailey of New Berlin were awarded the Emerging Energy Champion Award for “protecting Wisconsin’s energy and economic future.”
The 5 Lakes Institute presented the awards on May 6th, following the Great Lakes Fusion Energy Summit.
Chairman Jon Byrnes said of Steffen and Bailey, “We applaud their foresight and vision for seeing how the state and region can benefit from building out from UW-Madison’s top-tier energy research.”
Legislation both senators helped introduce would create the State of Wisconsin Nuclear Power Summit Board to direct the state to host a summit on nuclear power and how funding could be provided.
