Two local conservation groups are teaming up to celebrate Collins Marsh.
The Friends of the Manitowoc River Watershed and Friends of Collins Marsh are inviting everyone out to the Collins Marsh & Nature Center, located at 20021 County Road JJ in Reedsville, on Saturday, June 7th, for a bird talk and some paddling activities.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., Dr. Medhavi Ambardar, the Chief Scientist at the Lake Michigan Bird Observatory, will talk about all of the birds that can be found at the marsh.
Then, starting at 11:00 a.m., guests can launch their own kayak or canoe, or rent one for $10, and enjoy some time on the water.
There will also be a boating safety booth, manned by the Coast Guard Auxiliary, as well as Invasive Species awareness courtesy of the Wisconsin DNR.
