Ahead of the holiday weekend, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is urging safety for those traveling.
According to AAA, nearly 1 million people will be traveling on Wisconsin roadways over the next few days during Memorial Day weekend.
The peak travel times include today (May 23rd) from noon to 8:00 p.m., and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
With those times in mind, the DOT is asking motorists to pack patience and to avoid distractions while behind the wheel.
They are also asking for those traveling to buckle up and put their phones down, adhere to speed limits, and always stay alert.
Additionally, most road projects across the state will pause this weekend, however, closures may still impact traffic plans.
