Lorraine Josephine Schwartz, age 101, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Lorraine was born on October 14, 1923, in Denmark, Wis., daughter of the late Edwin and Apolonia (Linsmeyer) Seaton. Moving to Manitowoc as a young child, Lorraine attended St. Boniface Catholic Grade School and was a 1941 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
Lorraine married Joseph A. Schwartz on April 29, 1944, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ed Seaton and a son, Joseph E. Schwartz.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill (Elaine) Schwartz and Steve Schwartz and Ann Keil, all of Manitowoc. Lorraine is also survived by special cousins, Barbara, Mona and Cindy; a special niece, Anna Mae; other nieces and nephews, and many other dear friends. Also surviving are longtime family friends, Tom Leikam and Mary Portman.
Over the years, Lorraine volunteered at the Rahr West Museum, Holy Family Memorial Hospital, as an election day poll worker, and was a very proud member of the 2,500 hour Volunteer Club at the Capital Civic Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S 14th St., Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Al Boeldt with entombment to follow in Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday morning, at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.
The family would like to thank her church friends, Pat Korlesky, Jim Neuser and Sister Rita Mae Suhr for their weekly visits. Also a special thank you to the nurses and entire staff, especially, Lori Sieracki, of Laurel Grove Assisted Living, for their kindness and wonderful care they gave our mother.
