A house fire that tore through a Kenosha residence Thursday has been traced back to lithium-ion batteries, according to investigators.
The fire broke out around 1:00 p.m., engulfing the home in flames.
While no people were inside at the time, several pets are believed to have perished.
Authorities say the batteries, which were being used to power a drone, had been left charging when the fire started.
