David Kahl, who was serving time for the 2008 murder of University of Wisconsin–Madison student Brittany Zimmermann, has died while incarcerated.
Kahl, 59, had reportedly been dealing with health issues.
His death’s cause has not yet been disclosed.
The case remained unsolved for years until DNA evidence connected Kahl to the crime.
He later confessed and was imprisoned in 2022.
