A man charged with killing his cellmate at the Green Bay Correctional Institution has changed his plea.
Court records show that 25-year-old Jackson Vogel withdrew his not guilty by reason of disease or defect plea yesterday afternoon (May 21st).
His attorney wrote the letter withdrawing the plea last month.
However, his present bond will continue as his case is expected to head to trial next month.
Vogel allegedly killed 19-year-old Micah Lauriano because of his sexual orientation and race at GBCI in September last year.
Jail authorities found Lauriano in the cell.
Vogel is serving prison time after pleading no contest to charges of attempted homicide when he stabbed one of his family members in Manitowoc County.
