A woman charged with leaving a dog to die in an apartment in Two Rivers has had her initial appearance in court.
25-year-old Elizabeth Rahmlow waived her right to a reading of the criminal complaint and demanded a preliminary hearing during her appearance Monday (May 19th).
According to court documents, her bond was also amended to allow her to have contact with animals.
Prosecutors had no objections to Rahmlow seeing her family pet as long as the parents cared for it.
However, her bond doesn’t allow her to have a pet. Rahmlow faces charges of mistreatment of animals, causing death, and intentionally abandoning an animal after Two Rivers Police found a canine deceased in a kennel inside an unoccupied apartment.
Police say Rahmlow was identified as the dog’s owner and was arrested in February.
She’s scheduled to return to court on June 26th.
