This week’s rankings for baseball, softball, and girls soccer teams are in, and some local teams made the cut.
Despite recent struggles, Manitowoc Lincoln received honorable mention recognition in this week’s Division One Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association poll. The Ships are scheduled to host sixth-ranked De Pere this afternoon (May 21st) at 4:30 p.m.
Kimberly moves up from fourth to third while Hortonville receives honorable mention recognition.
The Division Two rankings have Seymour up from fourth to second. Kewaskum is also up two spots from seventh to fifth. Little Chute is ranked ninth, Wrightstown is tenth, and Campbellsport is ranked twelfth.
Oconto Falls and Waupun receive honorable mention recognition.
In Division Three, Cedar Grove-Belgium is up two notches to second, Chilton falls from fifth to sixth, Random Lake is ranked twelfth with Kohler/ Sheboygan Lutheran and Laconia receiving honorable mention votes, and Gibraltar Washington/ Island is ranked fifth in Division Four.
Mishicot remains the second-ranked team in the Division Four Wisconsin Fastpitch Coaches Association/wissports.net softball poll.
The Indians concluded the regular season by defeating Random Lake 8-0.
They open tournament play next Tuesday, hosting the winner of Howards Grove and Manitowoc Lutheran.
That game will be played on Thursday at Lancer Circle. St. Mary’s Springs of Fond Du Lac is ranked ninth.
Brillion is back in the Division Three poll at number 8. Undefeated Fox Valley Lutheran of Appleton replaces Jefferson atop the Division Two poll. Luxemburg-Casco is third, and Kewaskum is ranked eighth.
The Division One rankings have unbeaten Kaukauna at number one. 23-0 Green Bay Preble is third, Ashwaubenon is ninth, while Kimberly and Neenah received honorable mention recognition.
The Wisconsin Girls Soccer Coaches Association poll was released Tuesday afternoon.
We begin in Division Four, where Xavier of Appleton, Howards Grove, and Oostburg remain the top three teams. Ozaukee/Random Lake is seventh.
The Kiel Raiders are ranked seventh in Division Three.
Undefeated Cedar Grove-Belgium is ranked third, while Winneconne and Notre Dame of Green Bay are ninth and tenth, respectively. Plymouth is back atop the Division Two poll, with Pulaski jumping three places from tenth to seventh.
