
A police pursuit in Fond du Lac County that went through the local airport ended with two being arrested.
A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy found a vehicle driving on Interstate 41 that had been involved in a pursuit in the Town of Grand Chute.
The officer activated his lights, and the suspect took off down southbound Highway 151, prompting a pursuit.
Additional sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit in the Town of Lamartine, trying to stop the suspect.
A passenger ended up calling 911 during the pursuit and was screaming at the driver to let her out of the vehicle.
Police used a tire deflation device to try and stop the vehicle, and while it worked, the suspects kept driving.
The driver briefly ended up in a ditch, but he eventually got out and smashed a sheriff’s vehicle.
The pursuit eventually ended up in the Fond du Lac County Airport on the northbound taxiway.
The driver eventually exited the area, and two PIT maneuvers were executed on the vehicle.
The second one stopped the suspected vehicle in an area near I-41 when the driver tried to get back on by driving through a field.
The driver, a 27-year-old from Menasha was taken into custody without incident following a brief dialogue with the sheriff’s deputies.
The 31-year-old female passenger was also arrested.
Both are facing numerous charges.
The pursuit went on for almost 18 miles, and one sheriff’s deputy was treated and released from the hospital for injuries sustained in the pursuit.
