A stretch of Interstate 43 will be temporarily closed this week in Manitowoc County.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that, beginning today (May 19th), the southbound lane of I-43 will be closed at Carstens Lake Road.
This closure will be in place from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. today and will continue daily during the same time period through Thursday (May 22nd).
While I-43 is closed, crews will be working to repair the beam guard in the southbound lane.
Currently, this repair work is not expected to affect motorists heading northbound.
The DOT has stated that all maintenance operations in Manitowoc County are weather-dependent and subject to change.
