A man from Denver, Colorado, has been convicted in a case tied to human trafficking in Winnebago County.
Court records show that 32-year-old Romon A. Mitchell appeared in court last week for a plea hearing as he faced a long list of charges, including Human Trafficking, Keeping Place of a Prostitute, Possession of Cocaine, and Resisting an Officer among others.
However, a plea deal was reached, and those charges were dismissed by Winnebago County Judge Michael Gibbs.
Instead, Mitchell was convicted due to no contest pleas on charges of Possession of a Firearm by an Out-of-State Felon, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
WHBY reports that the 32-year-old was arrested back in January by the Oshkosh Police Department as part of a prostitution sting.
Authorities responded to an Oshkosh motel after receiving a call claiming that a woman was receiving money in exchange for sex.
Mitchell will be sentenced on July 14th.
