This would normally be the weekend of the Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep; however, it’s not happening this time.
Manitowoc County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer is reminding residents that the sweep has been moved to October due to road construction happening on Memorial Drive.
The detour runs through Highway 310 and has caused an increase in traffic by the Highway Department building, where hazardous items would normally be dropped off.
The county moved the event to October 10th and 11th after construction on Memorial Drive is complete.
The first day is meant for farms and businesses, while the second day is for residents.
A full list of items that will be accepted and not accepted at the sweep can be found on the recycling page of ManitwocCountyWI.gov.
