Over 30 acres of land in Two Rivers were burned due to a brush fire.
Two Rivers Fire Captain Patrick Krajnik tells Seehafernews.com that they were initially called this afternoon (May 17th) by multiple people because of smoke coming from the area.
The Two Rivers Fire Department started working on the brush fire with assistance from the Town of Two Rivers Fire Department and The Mishicot Fire Department.
Krajnik says the fire seemed to be under control, but then the wind shifted and caused the fire to change directions toward residences.
That’s when Two Rivers firefighters called a box alarm to bring departments from Manitowoc and Kewaunee Counties.
No homes were affected by the brush fire which was later extinguished.
The cause is still being investigated but fire does not seem to be suspicious.
Agencies on scene also included Valders Fire Rescue, Francis Creek Fire Department, Rockwood Fire Department, Silver Creek Fire Department, The Two Rivers Police Department and Manitowoc Police Department.
