The Manitowoc Public School District is doing its part to raise mental health awareness in the community.
MPSD will host the Mental Health and Wellness Awareness Walk and Resource Fair tomorrow (May 17th) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ron Rubick Field.
At the event, MPSD staff members, students, and community members will be walking the track at Rubick Field to raise money, and awareness of mental health and wellness.
In addition to the walk, community organizations with a mental health focus will be on hand to provide resources to anyone interested.
Many planning to attend the walk have purchased lime green t-shirts for the event.
While the online store has closed to purchase shirts, they can still be bought in person at the Central Office today (May 16th) or tomorrow at the event.
Shirts are $12 apiece, and proceeds raised from sales will directly benefit the MPSD Caring Closet and Weekend Food Backpack partnerships with Grow It Forward.
It has been studied and proven that student learning and achievement are boosted when a child is well-fed, well-rested, and free of physical, mental, or emotional distress.
If you are interested in supporting the mental health of MPSD students and other community members, you can stop by Ron Rubick Field tomorrow.
