Public safety workers were recently commended for their actions in a time of critical need.
At the Plymouth City Council meeting on Tuesday (May 13th), numerous individuals were presented with a Lifesaving Award for their role in an intervention that saved an individual from death.
Officers Smith and Novak with the Plymouth Police Department, Orange Cross Ambulance EMT Austin K., Paramedic Landon B., and retired Assistant Fire Chief Rory Beebe of the Plymouth Fire Department were the ones honored for their life-saving efforts.
During the incident, Orange Cross Ambulance was called to the scene of a pulseless non-breather experiencing cardiac arrest, where Chief Beebe was already performing CPR.
Once EMS arrived on the scene, the patient was transported to a local hospital, where they later made a full recovery and were discharged with minimal neurological deficits.
After the City Council meeting in Plymouth, Orange Cross Ambulance said, “We are incredibly proud of everyone who played a role in this save. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Congratulations to all.”
