
People and groups in the City of Manitowoc were awarded for their efforts again at this year’s Progress Lakeshore Excellence in Economic Development Award Breakfast.
The 14th Annual Breakfast brought local businesses and community leaders together to celebrate everything driving Manitowoc County.
City of Manitowoc Community Development Director Adam Tegan was given the Economic Accelerator of the Year Award for his “visionary leadership and transformative impact on the county’s economic growth. As Community Development Director for the City of Manitowoc, he has spearheaded major projects like the $12 million revitalization of the River Point District and over $50 million in new development at the I-43 Industrial Park.”
Manitowoc Public Utilities was the winner of the Corporate Investment Awards for changing to a 100% Wisconsin recognized renewable fuel source, while the owners of The Nook received the Entrepreneur Achievement Award.
The Neighborhood Development Award was given to Lakeshore College for their investment in healthcare education and workforce development.
Lastly, Ascend Services was given the Community Enhancement Award for its dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities and strengthening the Manitowoc County community.
Progress Lakeshore hosted the annual event at the Venue in downtown Manitowoc.
