
A home in Fond du Lac County has been destroyed after a fire this week.
The Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call on Tuesday (May 13th) just after 10:30 a.m. reporting a garage fire in the 5000 block of Fairview Road in the Town of Lamartine.
The caller reported that his garage, which was attached to his home, was completely engulfed in flames.
Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Lamartine Fire Department arrived on the scene to see significant smoke and flames coming from the roofline of the garage leading to the house, with the caller and homeowner in the lawn, unharmed.
Prior to the arrival of fire crews, the homeowner was able to rescue his dog from the burning house as well.
The fire was eventually extinguished; however, the home is being considered a total loss after experiencing excessive fire damage.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown and under investigation.
