Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul is joining 18 other attorneys general in a lawsuit against the Trump administration, challenging threats to withhold federal funding.
Kaul’s office says vital FEMA emergency preparedness grants and infrastructure funding for Wisconsin could be jeopardized.
He argues that the administration cannot legally deny funds already approved by Congress simply because states decline to support federal policy goals.
