A K9 with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office took home some hardware at an annual competition.
The Sheriff’s Office has announced that K9 Rocky and his handler, Deputy Jon Schwede, recently attended the annual recertification and training seminar at Jessiffany Canine Services LLC.
At the event, Rocky and Deputy Schwede were pitted against 54 other K9 teams from across the state.
Rocky proved to be one of the best of the 55 in attendance as he won first place in Narcotics Luggage Detection, first place in Narcotics Door Sniffs, and second place in Building Search for a Man.
Aside from a recertification, this event aims to push all K9s and handlers in attendance with various different events putting training, accuracy, and teamwork to the test.
These included narcotics detections, suspect searches, apprehensions, and more.
In their announcement, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office thanked Jessiffany Canine for hosting the event and their continued efforts advocating for K9s, as well as congratulated Rocky and Deputy Schwede for their performance.
