
The Manitowoc Police Department has released its April crime statistics.
In the monthly report, it was noted that there were 2,209 calls for service in April, which is nearly 270 fewer than April of 2024, but those calls resulted in a higher number of adult criminal charges.
144 charges were filed against adults last month, which is 12 more than last April, however, the year-to-date total is 202 charges lower than this time last year.
The number of charges against juveniles was significantly lower in April when compared to last year, with only 4 reported last month.
The year-to-date total of 25 is also 63.7% lower than this time last year.
Traffic citations were also down from 294 to 228, and the number of vehicle accidents was down from 87 to 76.
