NASCAR’s largest fundraiser is looking to raise money for nonprofit organizations across the country, including Northeastern Wisconsin.
The NASCAR Day Giveathon is a joint effort between NASCAR and the NASCAR Foundation to provide funding to communities and groups where those within NASCAR work, live, and race.
The giveathon is a 27-hour period of online fundraising that kicks off today (May 13th) beginning at 3:00 p.m. and will run until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow (May 14th).
Those donating can choose any participating nonprofit to donate to, and in our area, the two organizations that donations can benefit are Camp Tapawingo and the Harper Group of Manitowoc County.
Those who would like to donate can do so online once the 27-hour period opens by visiting nascarfoundation.org/giveathon.
During last year’s giveathon, each participating nonprofit earned an average of nearly $3,000 in donations, and in the two years since the NASCAR Day Giveathon’s inception, the program has raised just under $1.3 million for nonprofits across the U.S.
