Jean M. Gospodarek, 75, Manitowoc passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Froedtert Holy Family Hospital surrounded by her husband, daughters and sisters.
Jean was born on January 12, 1950 in Manitowoc to Everette and Lillian (Wichlacz) LeClair. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1968. On October 18, 1969, she married Robert Gospodarek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Jean worked at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc for 20 years in admissions and as a patient scheduler until her retirement. Jean was faith-centered, a devoted wife of 55 years to Bob, loving mother, and absolutely adored by her grandchildren. Jean enjoyed taking bus tours, visiting the library weekly to find a good book, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and searching for the perfect recipe to make for a family gathering. Most of all, she loved cheering on her grandchildren and watching them shine in all they do.
Jean is survived by her husband: Robert Gospodarek, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Gail (Chan) Barden, Manitowoc and Kelly (Dave) Weed, Columbus, IN; four grandchildren: Gabe Barden, Grace Barden, Lydia Weed, and Drew Weed; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Lynn Tulach, Manitowoc and Nancy (Frank) Reindl, Manitowoc; and three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Diane Gospodarek, Donald (Glenda) Gospodarek, and Jerry (Mary) Gospodarek. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents: Everette and Lillian LeClair; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Michael and Oriet Gospodarek; two brothers-in-law: Dave Tulach and James Gospodarek; and one nephew: Kevin Reindl.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church-Grand Site, 1416 Grand Ave., with Rev. Matt Colle officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Private burial of cremated remains will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
