A simple traffic stop turned into a drug arrest after the suspect allegedly flushed a baggie down a toilet.
A Manitowoc Police Officer spotted a vehicle traveling east on Huron Street just after midnight Sunday morning (May 11th), which was flagged for unpaid parking tickets.
The officer conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a gas station on North 8th Street, where the 48-year-old male driver admitted to not having a driver’s license.
K9 Rolo was called to the scene and alerted officers to the driver’s side door.
The man was taken into custody, and while at the police department, he asked to use the restroom to adjust his catheter.
The officers obliged, but warned him not to flush the toilet.
However, the man ignored to order, but not before an officer noticed a plastic baggie go down the drain and a rolled up piece of tin foil remain afloat.
The suspect was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Possession of THC, Obstructing an Officer, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
