A fire in a Milwaukee apartment building has left four people dead and four others critically injured.
Fire Chief Aaron Lipski confirmed the building, located near 27th and Highland, had no sprinkler system in the residential units.
It was exempt from modern fire code requirements due to its construction date prior to 1968.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
